Westgate Covid-19 News
10th Dec 2020
A team member, who works in the Admin department at Food Lover’s Market Inland Division, has tested positive for Covid-19. She was temporarily located at the Food Lover’s Market Westgate store and her last day at work was on Tuesday, 08 December 2020 – two days ago. This team member called in to let us know she is feeling unwell. She consequently had herself tested yesterday – Wednesday, 09 December 2020. We were formally advised today that she has tested positive for COVID-19.
All team members that were in close contact with this colleague have been identified and have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 10-days since last contact with their colleague. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.
A professional cleaning company conducted a deep clean and sanitisation of the Food Lover’s Market Westgate store on Wednesday, 09 December 2020 – after our colleague advised us that she has been tested for Covid-19. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team member was last in the store.
We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to welcoming her, and the rest of the team, back to work.
We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practicing social distancing and wearing masks.
As we have followed all required hygiene protocols – our own, as well as the regulations as set out by government, Food Lover’s Market Westgate is open and we look forward to welcoming you back to store.
