Westgate Covid-19 News
27th Jul 2020
27 July 2020 – A team member, who works as a Store Manager at Food Lover’s Market Westgate, has tested positive for Covid-19. He was last in the store on Tuesday, 21 July 2020 – six days ago. This team member was screened as part of our wellness checks and was sent home because he wasn’t feeling well. He consequently had himself tested on Sunday, 26 July 2020 (yesterday) and we were advised of the positive test result today.
All team members that were in close contact with this colleague have been identified and have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 14-days since last contact with their colleague. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.
Food Lover’s Market Westgate was temporarily closed today – Monday, 27 July 2020 – for a deep clean and sanitisation of the store, conducted by a professional cleaning company. We intend to reopen tomorrow morning – Tuesday, 28 July 2020, when we are completely satisfied that all hygiene protocols have been completed.
We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to welcoming him, and the rest of the team, back to the store.
We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day. We will also continue to follow all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practicing social distancing and wearing masks.
