West Coast Mall Covid-19 News
4th Jan 2021
04 January 2021 – A team member, who works in the Butchery Department at Food Lover’s Market West Coast Mall has tested positive for Covid-19. His last day at work was on Thursday, 31 December 2020 – four days ago. This team member called in to advise us that he is feeling unwell. He consequently had himself tested on Saturday, 02 January 2020. We were formally advised today of the positive test result.
All team members that were in close contact with this colleague have been identified and have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 10-days since the last contact with their colleague. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.
A professional cleaning company conducted a deep clean and sanitisation of the store on Saturday, 02 January 2020 – on the day our colleague was tested for Covid-19. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team members were last in the store.
We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to welcoming him, and the rest of the team, back to the store.
We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practicing social distancing and wearing masks.
As we have followed all required hygiene protocols – our own, as well as the regulations as set out by the government, Food Lover’s Market West Coast Mall is open and we look forward to welcoming you back to store.
