Upington Covid-19 News
20th Aug 2020
A team member, who works in the Receiving department at Food Lover’s Market Upington, has tested positive for Covid-19. Her last day at work was on Friday, 14 August 2020 – six days ago. This team member felt unwell and consequently had herself tested on Monday, 17 August 2020. While our colleague did not inform us at the time that she has been tested for Covid-19, we have been advised of the positive test result today.
All team members that were in close contact with this colleague have been identified and have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 14-days since last contact with their colleague. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.
As we were not advised at the time that our colleague has been tested, we have closed the store today for an immediate deep clean and sanitisation by a professional cleaning company. We intend to reopen tomorrow morning – Friday, 21 August 2020, once we are completely satisfied that all hygiene protocols have been completed.
We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to welcoming her, and the rest of the team, back to the store.
We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practicing social distancing and wearing masks.
Food Lover’s Market Upington will be open for business tomorrow and we look forward to welcoming you back to store.
