Secunda COVID-19 News
12th Aug 2020
12 August 2020 – A team member, who works as a Till Controller at Food Lover’s Market Secunda, has tested positive for COVID-19. Our colleague was last in the store on Saturday, 08 August 2020 – four days ago. This team member was a close contact of someone who tested positive for COVID-19 in her home and she consequently had herself tested for on Monday, 10 August 2020. We were made aware of the positive test result today.
All team members that were in close contact with these colleagues have been identified and have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 14-days since last contact with their colleagues. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.
A professional cleaning company conducted a deep clean and sanitisation of the store on Tuesday, 11 August 2020 – after we were advised the our colleague has gone for a test. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team member was last in the store.
We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to welcoming her, and the rest of the team, back to the store.
We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practicing social distancing and wearing masks.
As we have followed all required hygiene protocols – our own, as well as the regulations as set out by government, Food Lover’s Market Secunda is open and we look forward to welcoming you back to store.
