Menlyn Covid-19 News
10th Jan 2021
09 January 2021 – A team member, who works in the Fruit and Veg Department at Food Lover’s Market Menlyn, has tested positive for Covid-19. His last day at work was on Sunday, 03 January 2021 – six days ago. This team member was screened as part of our daily wellness checks and sent home. He consequently had himself tested on Monday, 04 January 2021. We were formally advised today of the positive test result.
All team members that were in close contact with this colleague have been identified and have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 10-days since last contact with their colleague. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.
A professional cleaning company conducted a deep clean and sanitization of the store on Monday, 04 January 2021 – when our colleague advised us that he has been tested for Covid-19. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team members were last in the store.
We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to welcoming him, and our other colleagues, back to the store.
We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols – including sanitizing hands and surfaces, practicing social distancing and wearing masks.
As we have followed all required hygiene protocols – our own, as well as the regulations as set out by government, Food Lover’s Market Menlyn is open and we look forward to welcoming you back to store.
