Hermanus Covid-19 News
14th Dec 2020
A team member, who works as an outsourced Cleaner at Food Lover’s Market Hermanus, has tested positive for Covid-19. Her last day at work was on Friday, 11 December 2020 – three days ago. This team member was screened as part of our daily wellness checks and sent home. She consequently had herself tested for Covid-19 on Saturday, 12 December 2020. We were informally advised today of the positive test result. In the interest of transparency, we are letting you know about these developments and how we have already addressed them.
The team member that was a close contact of this colleague has been identified and instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 10-days since the last contact with her. This team member is being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that our colleague has not contracted the virus.
A professional cleaning company conducted a deep clean and sanitisation of the store on Saturday, 12 December 2020 – on the day our colleague had herself tested for Covid-19. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team member was last in the store.
We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to welcoming her, and the rest of the team, back to the store.
We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practicing social distancing and wearing masks.
As we have followed all required hygiene protocols – our own, as well as the regulations as set out by the government, Food Lover’s Market Hermanus is open and we look forward to welcoming you back to store.
