Hermanus Covid-19 News
25th Jul 2020
July 2020 – A team member, who works in the Seafood department at Food Lover’s Market Hermanus, has tested positive for Covid-19. His last day at work was on Monday, 20 July 2020 – five days ago. This team member was screened as part of our daily wellness checks and was consequently referred to be tested. He consequently had himself tested on 23 July 2020 – two days ago. We were informally advised today that he has tested positive for COVID-19. Although we have not yet received a certification from a medical authority, we have decided to activate the protocols we have in place in the event of a positive test result.
All team members that were in close contact with this colleague have been identified and have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 14-days since last contact with their colleague. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.
A professional cleaning company conducted a deep clean and sanitisation of the store on Tuesday, 21 July 2020 (four days ago) – after our colleague was screened and sent home. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team member was last in the store.
We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to welcoming him, and the rest of the team, back to the store.
As we have followed all required hygiene protocols – our own, as well as the regulations as set out by government, Food Lover’s Market Hermanus is open and we look forward to welcoming you back to store.
