24 June 2021 – A team member, who works at Seattle Coffee Co., has tested positive for Covid-19. His last day at work was on Monday, 21 June 2021 – three days ago. This team member called in sick as he was feeling unwell and consequently had himself tested on Tuesday, 22 June 2021. We were formally advised of the positive test result today.
This team member had no close contacts.
A second team, working in the Groceries department, has tested positive for Covid-19. Her last day at work was also on Monday, 21 June 2021 – three days ago. This team member called in sick as she was feeling unwell and consequently had herself tested on Wednesday, 23 June 2021. We were formally advised of the positive test result today.
This team member had one close contact, who has been identified and instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 10-days since last contact with said colleague. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.
A professional cleaning company conducted a deep clean and sanitisation of the store on Wednesday, 23 June 2021 – after we were advised that our colleagues have been tested for Covid-19. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team member was last in the store.
We wish our affected colleagues well and look forward to welcoming them, and our other colleague, back to the store.
We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practicing social distancing and wearing masks.
As we have followed all required hygiene protocols – our own, as well as the regulations as set out by government, Food Lover’s Market Hermanus is open and we look forward to welcoming you back to store.
