26 January 2021 – A team member, who works as a Cashier at Food Lover’s Market Stellenbosch, has tested positive for Covid-19. Her last day at work was on Sunday, 24 January 2021 – two days ago. This team member called to let us know that she is feeling unwell. She consequently had herself tested on Monday, 25 January 2021. We were formally advised today of the positive test result.
This team member had one close contact, who has been identified and instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 10-days since last contact with said colleague. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.
A professional cleaning company conducted a deep clean and sanitisation of the store early this morning (Tuesday, 26 January 2021) – when we were advised that our colleague has been tested for Covid-19. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team members were last in the store.
We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to welcoming her, and our other colleague, back to the store.
We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practicing social distancing and wearing masks.
As we have followed all required hygiene protocols – our own, as well as the regulations as set out by government, Food Lover’s Market Stellenbosch is open and we look forward to welcoming you back to store.
