Food Lover’s Market Hermanus Covid-19 News
20th Jun 2020
20 June 2020 – A team member, who works in the grocery department at Food Lover’s Market Hermanus, called in sick and has not returned to work since 12 June 2020 – eight days ago. We have been advised today, through the Department of Health, that he has tested positive for COVID-19. Although we have only been advised telephonically, we have decided to activate the protocols we have in place in the event of a positive test result.
All team members that were in close contact with this colleague have been identified and have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 14-days since last contact with their colleague. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.
Subsequent to our colleague being initially tested, a professional cleaning company have twice conducted a deep clean and sanitation of the store – a scheduled deep clean on 15 June 2020 and an additional deep clean on18 June 2020.
In the interest of transparency, we have let you know about this development and how we have already addressed it.
We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to welcoming him, and the rest of the team, back to the store.
We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day. We will continue to follow all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practicing social distancing and wearing masks.
